Change in database structure may slightly delay first login
Scheduled Maintenance Report for TOPdesk SaaS Status page
Postmortem

As a result of the database maintenance we noticed a higher than usual CPU load on database servers. This may have caused some delays while working in TOPdesk.

Should you experience any performance issues after the initial login, please contact our Support team to investigate the issue.

In progress
Updated the planning as there was a small delay while updating the early release group. We'd rather release a properly tested version one day later than rushing the planning.

Scheduled
During the next update for TOPdesk SaaS environments a change will be executed in the TOPdesk database structure. This change may cause your operators to experience a small delay the first time they log in after the update.

Purpose of this change
TOPdesk is recreating the table in which the filters for operators are stored. This change will improve the performance and responsiveness of TOPdesk for customers working with filters.

As a result of this change, the table contents need to be recreated. The fastest and most efficient way to do so is upon first login of the operator. However, this may cause a small delay during the first login process for operators, especially if many of your operators log in a the same time.

Planning, last updated on 21-11-2019:
All test environments for Continuous Deployment customers have been updated last night (20-11-2019).
The next update for TOPdesk SaaS environments in the early release group is scheduled for tonight (21-11-2019).
The next update for TOPdesk SaaS environments in the regular (Continuous Deployment) group is scheduled for tomorrow night (22-11-2019).

Expected impact
In our tests we saw a minimal increase of the login time for operators. However, the login time may become longer if more operators log in at (exactly) the same time.

Most environments will be updated at night during the weekend. So, for most customers, operators may experience a minimal delay while logging in on Monday morning.

After the first login for that operator the filter table contents have been recreated, and the login process is back to normal.
